Interim Worship Coordinator (8:30 a.m. Service)

Mission

To provide worship coordination for Fellowship’s 8:30 Traditional Worship Service, for those who desire a more intimate worship setting with music that favors classical expressions using organ and acoustic instruments.

Expectations

  1. Be fully committed to Christ as Savior and Lord and dedicated to congregational ministry.
  2. Work collaboratively with the staff and laity of FRC to create a worship experience that leads others to praise and glorify God.

Responsibilities

  1. Equip and empower musicians and liturgical leadership for the 8:30 Sunday service.
  2. Select music in alignment with the chosen scripture texts.
  3. Assist in crafting liturgy, prayer, and service orders that reflect the Church year, sermon series, etc.
  4. Meet weekly with the Worship Planning Team to plan/finalize music and liturgy.
  5. Schedule musicians (organist, vocalists, etc.) for the service.
  6. Work with the office staff to coordinate and oversee bulletin layout and presentation slide production for worship services.
  7. Meet with pastoral staff and musicians at 7:45 am on Sunday morning to walk through the service.

Interim Contract

  • 5-7 hours a week
  • August 1- January 31

Interim Worship Leader (10:00 a.m. Service)

Mission

To provide worship and band leadership for Fellowship’s 10:00 Worship Service which is a lively service that favors current, contemporary music expressions led with a worship band.

Expectations

  1. Be fully committed to Christ as Savior and Lord and dedicated to congregational ministry.
  2. Work collaboratively with the staff and laity of FRC to create a worship experience that leads others to praise and glorify God.
  3. Experience in leading worship teams, coordinating sound and technology in a church setting.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the 10:00 am worship team (empowering and equipping musicians and liturgists).
  2. Select music that aligns with the chosen scripture texts.
  3. Assist in crafting liturgy, prayer, and service orders that reflect the Church year, sermon series, etc.
  4. Meet weekly with the Worship Planning Team to plan/finalize music and liturgy.
  5. Schedule musicians (instrumentalists and vocalists) for the service.
  6. Schedule and lead weekly worship band rehearsals.
  7. Work with the office staff to coordinate and oversee bulletin layout and presentation slide production for worship services.
  8. Meet with pastoral staff and musicians on Sunday morning to walk through the service.

Interim Contract:

  • 20-25 hours a week
  • August 1- January 31
  • Temporary shared housing may be available
  • Guests may lead worship on occasion

Fellowship Reformed Church is seeking a lead pastor for the position of Minister of Preaching and Congregational Leadership. The position works in collaboration with two associate pastors of congregational care, discipleship, and missions, as well as our administrator of finance and operations. Together with these ministers and our capable staff, the lead pastor will work to expand our presence in Holland, MI as an accepting community centered in Christ by encouraging our congregation through preaching and the clear articulation of our vision. Fellowship is a vibrant and missional congregation of over 900 members located on the shores of Lake Michigan.

The Minister of Preaching and Congregational Leadership will provide leadership, strategic vision, and personal commitment to the execution of the church’s mission.  The Minister of Preaching and Congregational Leadership is to provide missional leadership to the staff, the Ministry Leadership Council, the full Consistory, and the congregation by facilitating the discernment, communication, and implementation of God’s mission and vision for Fellowship Church.   • Park Township: Fellowship is located in Park Township. This community is a combination of parks, farms, beaches, waterfront, and suburban living. Multi-use paths go throughout the community providing many walking, running, and biking opportunities. Holland State Park, Tunnel Park, and many smaller parks provide access to Lake Michigan. The community is growing in diversity. The Holland area has many types of employment options including innovative manufacturing companies.
  • Holland: The city of Holland is minutes away from Fellowship and includes a beautiful downtown with small shops, snow melt for the sidewalks, a farmer’s market, Hope College, and Western Theological Seminary
  • West Ottawa Schools: Fellowship has many connections with West Ottawa Schools. This school district of approximately 8,000 students provides a wide variety of opportunities for students academically, athletically, and in the arts. Many staff are members at Fellowship and we also work closely with an elementary school located across the street from Fellowship, Lakewood Elementary School. We provide mentors as a part of the Kids Hope program and also food through Hand2Hand.
  • Holland Christian Schools: Holland Christian Schools are also located in Park Township and the city of Holland. They continue to be highly regarded for Christian education.
