Jessica Mix named as new Minister of Creative Arts & Worship

Dear Fellowship Church Family,

We thank God every time we think of you, grateful for your generosity and commitment this past year amidst many transitions. It is a joy to be living into our new pastoral model now that the team is in place. We enjoy one another’s presence, and it is a gift to consider how to lead and serve at Fellowship as your pastors. Thank you!

Over the past year we have been searching for a worship director. Jessica Mix has served faithfully as our interim music director for the 10am service. After conducting a full search, we are overjoyed to extend an offer to her as Minister of Creative Arts and Worship. She comes with significant musical experience, demonstrated abilities to build worship teams that invite us into the presence of God, and has already connected well with the staff. We are excited about bringing Jess onto the team!

Linda Milanowski, chair of the search team, writes:

On behalf of the team, I’d like to thank you, the congregation, for the input you provided over the last several months. We are a community that desires to engage in worship in many different ways! I’m pleased to introduce the candidate who rose to the top, our interim Jessica Mix, whose talent we’ve already experienced. While you can read more about her on the website, she’s been playing the piano since age 10 and has been leading worship teams for 15 years. Jess is passionate about fostering spiritual formation through music, visual arts, Scripture, and prayer. She loves to empower the body of Christ to worship with a variety of worship languages and musical styles. Personally, Jess experienced God’s love and healing through music and desires to nurture a space where others can use their talents in worship of God. Jess has been married to Adam since 2002, and together they have 3 children, Natalie, Logan, and Sophia. Her hobbies include natural and holistic health, hiking, being outdoors, learning about the human brain, and most of all, Jess enjoys lots of laughter with family and friends. Please introduce yourselves to Jess, share with her any areas of interest you have in joining worship ministry at Fellowship, and give her a warm Fellowship welcome!

And from Jess:

I am truly honored and excited to serve as your new Minister of Creative Arts and Worship! Over the past four months, Fellowship Church (the congregation, worship volunteers, and staff) has warmed my heart with its welcome and support. As I settle into this new role, I am most eager to get to know each of you as individuals and families, and to hear about your worship journeys and how God is transforming you through public worship. I really look forward to partnering in ministry in the months and years to come as we seek to worship our God in spirit and in truth together!

Jess will be “introduced” to the congregation this Sunday, and will take two weeks off prior to beginning her new full-time role on February 18. We are grateful to Linda and the entire search team: Matt Abbott, Karen Donker, Ryan Faber, Leslie Kole, Betty McClarty, Lindsay Small, and Bob VandenBrand, for the extensive work to fulfill this role. Well done good and faithful servants

Throughout our transitions, we continue to thank God for His love and care. We covet your prayers as we serve and lead the congregation of Fellowship Church. If you have additional questions, please contact Pastor Lindsay.

Grace and Peace,

Pastors Lindsay, Nate, & Ross
