Faith community nursing is the specialized practice of professional nursing that focuses on the intentional care of the spirit as part of the process of promoting wholistic health and preventing or minimizing illness in a faith community. Teaching and healing were vital components in Jesus' ministry. Faith community nursing returns healing to its origins... the church (See Luke 9:2 and Romans 15:13).
Fellowship Reformed Church's faith community nurse (FCN) is Linda Hutchison RN, BSN, FCN. Her mission is the intentional integration of the practice of faith with the practice of nursing so that people can achieve wholeness in, with and through the community of faith that she serves. Linda works with the Health Ministry Team, a team of individuals with various gifts and talents who provide a health service to the church, family and community. They give direction and assistance to the FCN and promote, encourage and support health education and wellness. Together, Linda and the Health Ministry Team help to meet the wholistic needs of individuals and the church family, caring for one's Body, Mind and Spirit.
